Everybody knew that Eric was a show-off. He always had an answer to every challenge.
There was a day a kite ate baby chicks in many homes, and everyone was worried. They did not know what to do. They had tried to lock the chicks up in the pens during the day, and let them out for only 20 minutes in the evening, but the kite caught some during the 20 minutes.
“We should find a way of eating the kite,” Eric suggested.
Everyone thought that was a brilliant idea but no one took him seriously.
“Maybe! Maybe not! There is one way of finding out”, Eric said.
The village forgot the idea. They continued whining about the kite that was eating all their baby chicks but Eric did not forget.
He woke up thinking, spent the whole day thinking and went to bed in thought.
When Eric started walking around with a notebook, his father laughed out loud.
“Young man, what is going on?” he asked.
“I am writing my ideas,” Eric answered.
After five days of writing, Eric’s book was full.
He rushed to his mother and said, “I am ready for the kite now.”
“Do you think kite meat is delicious?” Eric’s mother asked.
