The greatest gift or provision of God to the world is Jesus. This itself is an incompressible mystery to us human beings who have been and those of us who are living today. That God who created everything that is seen, and unseen would on his own accord decide to visit us on this planet earth, which he created to redeem us from our sins and give us eternal life, which he has promised to those who put their trust in him.
The Birth of Jesus Christ
It is now 2024 years ago when Jesus was born. We are celebrating his birth on the dedicated day of 25th December 2021. The whole world, inclusive of believers and non-believers, will consciously be celebrating this day. This day will register in their mind or brain that something great happened so many years ago.
The uniqueness of the birth of Christ to any other person or king who walked on this planet earth is noted as follows:
1-When man fell in the garden of Eden, God promised to bring him back to himself by declaring I quote
Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” This is indicative of Jesus, who would come and bruise Satan’s head through his ministry to bring man back to himself.
2-The birth of Christ was prophesied 700 years before the actual event happened by the prophet Isaiah. There has never been anything like this in the history of man for this kind of prediction. And when Prophet Isaiah made this prediction or prophecy, he characterised it as follows:
Isaiah 6:8-9 “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, here am I; send me. And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.”
Jesus accepted this call willingly to come down in the form of a man to redeem us from our sins” Isaiah continues to say more in Isaiah 53:5-10. The above prophecy happened when Jesus was born- never had a man had this kind of prediction
I have been an obstetrician for over 40 years and am still actively engaged in my profession. I have personally delivered more than 2000 babies, and I have met the parents of these babies one-on-one. All these parents are overjoyed about the birth of their offspring. None of them told me about any prior knowledge of their child before they were either conceived, and also their birth or what their future would be.
But with Jesus, we see all this. God, through his wisdom, told us everything about his son Jesus, his birth, his life on earth, his mission, his death and also his return back on earth shortly to take his believers to heaven and also to pass judgment to all unbelievers and to create a new heaven and a new earth. This will happen.
The GPS and the wisemen
As a scientist, I am very excited and intrigued by this event that took place at the time of Jesus’ birth. This is the first time we see GPS in action. The GPS (Global Positioning System) is now a common feature in our daily lives. It first came into commercial use about 30 years ago, and now we use it in our cars, bicycles, and motorbikes as we travel, locating our paths and in space science. This is the science these wise men (scientists) used to locate the birthplace/address where Jesus was born. They did not go around house to house asking people where Jesus was, but God revealed this science to them many years earlier to fulfil this purpose and to make his son Jesus Christ, the king of kings and the Lord of Lords. No human being, a prophet or a king, or a president, had all these unique things happen to that person. The unbeliever calls him an agnostic or an atheist or even Satan, would deny that all this happened.
My personal testimony
On 12th April 1964, while in Lubiri secondary school, I was led to the Lord by my late sister, Pastor Dorothy Namuddu, while attending the Full Gospel church located on Makerere Hill Road. This church is known as Gugudde (burden of sins fallen off). Jesus took off the burden of sins from my shoulders at it were and gave me a new life.
As Apostle Paul narrates Galatians 2:20-21 KJV: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Dear friend if you have never put your trust in Christ before – I challenge you to do this this month.
