Evangelist and Samaritan’s Purse CEO Rev Franklin Graham has called for “new leadership” in Gaza, as the relief organisation ramps up efforts in the war-torn region.
Following the 10th October US-backed peace deal, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), led by Johnnie Moore, came under fire after reports that civilians were killed by Israeli Defence Forces while collecting aid.
Graham told the press on October 28th, 2025 that Samaritan’s Purse will work independently of GHF. “The situation in Gaza is very fluid. We are not there to take anybody’s place; we are there just to help,” he said, expressing hope for rebuilding the devastated region and stressing the need for fresh leadership.
Samaritan’s Purse will operate through the Holy Family Church, the only functioning Christian place of worship in Gaza.
