Women in Kampala have been urged to pursue purpose-driven enterprises and overcome self-imposed limitations during a Women in Business Conference, held at House of Revival Ministries in Kisaasi on March 7, 2026. The event, organised as part of global celebrations recognising women, drew a large number of participants for a day of prayer, networking and practical business insights.

The church’s female lead, Pastor Esther Kintu, who is also a business owner and founder of the fashion brand Atarah by Esther, welcomed attendees and challenged women to rise above limitations. She noted that many often focus on less important matters instead of aiming higher, yet God has already placed the ability within them to succeed. Drawing from her journey in promoting African wear, she encouraged women to pursue excellence and innovation.

Tshani Nicole, Chief Executive Officer of Tshani Braids, delivered the first keynote address. Sharing her experience as a refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo, she described her business journey as one marked by favour and perseverance. She urged women to remain honest, uphold integrity and use their success to uplift others.

Maria Namusoke, founder of Markh Investments, encouraged women to be consistent, trustworthy and persistent. She highlighted human resource management as a key challenge and recommended adopting digital systems for efficiency. She highlighted resilience and fierceness as part of the traits one must adopt in order to be a successful businesswoman.
The conference was supported by MTN MoMo, Ecobank and Centenary Bank, with government agencies like URA and URSB offering guidance on business formalisation.
