God’s extended hand of salvation

By Kate Tamale

In times of uncertainty, it is deeply reassuring to know that God’s hand of salvation remains extended to all who call upon His name. Romans 10:13 affirms this timeless promise: “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” This truth highlights the universal availability of God’s grace, regardless of one’s background, mistakes, or personal history.

To fully embrace this gift of salvation, belief is essential. Hebrews 11:6 emphasises the need to believe not only in God’s existence but also in His redemptive plan through Jesus Christ. John 3:16 further sheds light on this divine love, proclaiming: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” This well-loved verse captures God’s desire that no one should lose their way but instead find life and hope through His Son.

Jesus Himself declared: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life” (John 14:6), reminding us that salvation is not something we can earn through effort or merit. Rather, it is a gift freely given by a loving God, extended to all who choose to believe and receive it.
