Christmas is a time of joy, celebration, and hope, but its true meaning often gets lost in the hustle of worldly traditions. It is not merely a season of extravagant gifts, lavish decorations, or festive gatherings and neither is it about commercialisation or indulgence.
These activities, while enjoyable, can distract us from the profound truth at the heart of Christmas: the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Jesus is God’s gift of Salvation to humanity. Glory to God!
In Luke 2:11, the angel declared to the shepherds, “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.”
Jesus was born to fulfill a mission, to save sinners. His birth was the first step into the journey that would lead to the cross, where He would take upon Himself the sins of the world ( Galatians 1:4), (Rom 5:8).
As John 3:16 proclaims, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus’ mission was not about temporary happiness but eternal hope and restoration for all who believe in Him.
Let us not forget the humility of Christ’s birth in a manger , which emphasizes that salvation is available to everyone, regardless of status, background, or achievements. He came for the broken, the lost, and the weary.
Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” My friend to know Christ is to know the way, the truth , and the life.
This Christmas, let us focus on the eternal gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. He calls all to repent of their sins and believe in Him for a new, abundant life.
Will you accept Jesus today (John1:12-13)? Jesus’ gift of salvation is far greater than anything this world can offer.
God Bless you abundantly.
Merry Christmas
